Automating the heating/cooling based on when the vehicle is scheduled to run, optimizes and reduces the energy consumption, and gives you cost control.

How it works


Vehicle Climate Management is a solution that runs on the Telia Smart Public Transport platform. A Telia Iot Edge gateway (MIIPS C) with antenna is installed in the vehicle. Temperature sensors are connected to the device, and together they collect temperature data.


The gateway sends information such as position and temperature to Telia’s cloud-based platform where it can be accessed via the customer portal. Here you can set all of the parameters such as temperature profiles, geofencing etc. This then determines when heating is automatically activated and allows you to monitor progress and history in real time.


The vehicles’ positions are displayed on a map. This map allows you to create a virtual geographic boundary or ‘geofence’ and receive notification if your vehicle leaves this area. Profiles for geofence and temperature, combined with positioning and other data, provide an overview of the heating status and the vehicle’s status in relation to its desired profile. It also enables you to identify which vehicles consume the most energy.
