Telia first in Europe to receive new SD-WAN certification

MEF has announced that Telia’s SD-WAN is the first in Europe to be MEF 3.0 certified

Telia Company was the first operator in Europe to launch the cloud-based SD-WAN – Software-Defined Wide Area Network – to its enterprise customers from Finland in 2017. Today, the Telia SD-WAN service is provided globally to enterprise customers on three continents

The service has numerous benefits to enterprise customers in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. It cuts the time needed for network service changes and introduction of new network functionalities to a fraction by performing the necessary actions in the Telia cloud. It adapts to a company's business needs in real time automatically and is suitable for companies of all sizes.

“We are proud to be one of the first service providers to have successfully achieved the MEF 3.0 SD-WAN certification milestone. We view our MEF 3.0 certification as a key step in addressing the requirements of our enterprise customers. Certification is especially important for helping customers simplify the process of selecting a service provider that is committed to standardized global services. SD-WAN has become an essential part of our managed services portfolio to accelerate our customers’ digital transformation journey,” says Tomi Airola, Head of Business Networking at Telia Company.

MEF 3.0 SD-WAN certification involves rigorous tests of the service attributes and requirements defined in MEF 70 and described in detail in MEF’s draft SD-WAN Certification Test Requirements (MEF 90) standard. Learn more about Telia SD-WAN
